Requirements: Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Higher - Located on the Microsoft Windows Update Site - Download Here. Microsoft Outlook 2007 - No Charge for Customers - Download Here Mailbox User - If you are your company's Admin and need to create a new user: Click Here Option 1: Automatic Instructions 1. Open up your web browswer and go to http://cp.syncmymail.com 2. Login with your email address and password. 3. Click on Exchange from the top menu --> Outlook Configuration and scroll to the bottom of the page... 4. Make sure HTTP (Outlook 2003/2007 Only) is checked and click to download Outlook Profile Setup 5. Click Run to install the autologin program. Keep Outlook Profile and Auto Logon Tool checked during setup. If prompted twice then click Run again. 6. Click Next --> Next --> Install --> Finish . When the Autologin Properties box opens fill in Password and Confirm Password. Choose Yes to any options. Do not open up Outlook before configuring your Autologon properties. 7. Open up Microsoft Outlook with the profile named with your First and Last name. You are now ready to begin using your new Email account. When you first run Microsoft Outlook you will be prompted for a password. Do not enter a password, Outlook will automatically login within 5 seconds. Option 2: Configure Microsoft Outlook 2003/2007 Manually Windows XP SP3 and Vista users - Read this if you plan to configure Outlook using the steps below. 1. Open up Start --> Control Panel and double-click on Mail 2. Click on Show Profiles 3. Click on Add and Enter MAIL as the Profile Name. Click OK 4. Outlook 2007 users should select Manually configure server settings or additonal server types. Outlook 2003 users should click on Add a new e-mail account. Select Next. 4. Select Microsoft Exchange Server and click next. 5. Exchange 2007 customers should enter exvs02.exchangecarrier.net as the Microsoft Exchange Server. Enter username@domain.com for the User Name. Do NOT click next, click on More Settings. Your computer may pause for 60 seconds and you may get an error saying 'The action could not completed' This is normal, click ok and cancel to continue. 6. Click on the tab labeled Connection and check the box that says Connect to my Exchange mailbox using HTTP. Next click on Exchange Proxy Settings 7. Exchange 2007 customers enter rpc.exchangecarrier.net as the URL to connect to my proxy server for Exchange. Under Proxyauthentication settings, change the drop down select to Basic Authentication. Click OK --> OK --> Next --> Finish. 8. Check the box Always use this profile and set MAIL from the drop down list. Click OK. You are now ready to begin using Microsoft Outlook 2007.
Requirements: Microsoft Entourage 2008 - No Charge for Customers - Download Here Mailbox User - If you are your company's Admin and need to create a new user: Click Here 1. Log on to http://cp.syncmymail.com. Type your primary email address as the User Name. 2. Click on Exchange -> Exchange Summary from the menu on the left side of the screen. 3. Write down or take note of the Account ID and Exchange Server values under the Microsoft Entourage 2008 section. (Sample below) 4. Go to Tools -> Accounts 5. Select File - > New -> Account 6. Under New Account Type, Select Exchange 7. Under the Account Settings, Fill in the Fields displayed below. Enter the Account ID and Exchange Server values taken from step 3. Enter exchangecarrier.net for the Domain value. Do not enter your actual domain for the Domain field. Enter SyncMyMail for the account name and check the box that says 'This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)' 8. Select the Advanced Field tab and enter mob.exchangecarrier.net as the Public folders server. Check 'This DAV service requires a secure connection' and uncheck 'This server requires me to log on' under the Directory Settings. Click Ok 10. You are now ready to start using Microsoft Entourage 2008 with your Hosted Exchange 2007 mailbox account.
If this is the first user you are provisioning Sharepoint for you will need to have a SharePoint site enabled for your service. After SharePoint is enabled on your account you will recieve an email with DNS instructions and the URL of your SharePoint site. The URL format is typically 'domain.exchangecarrier.net'. For example, if your domain is acme-demo.com, your SharePoint site will be located at http://acme-demo.exchangecarrier.com. Enabling SharePoint for an Existing User 1. Log on to the Hosted Exchange Control Panel http://cp.syncmymail.com using your admin username and password. (Ex. admin@acme-demo.com) 2. Enter the username of the user you are enabling SharePoint access for and click Go 3. Expand SharePoint Service and select the user Service Access Level and Roles for the user. 4. Click Provision. The status light for the service will turn green when complete. The user is now ready to login to the SharePoint site. Accessing SharePoint for the First Time If you're ready to start using SharePoint and want to read through our FAQ click here 1. Open your web browser and go the the URL of your Sharepoint site. You will be prompted for a username and password. Enter the logon for a user which has the SharePoint service enabled. 2. Select a Template and click ok. You can get a description of each template by clicking on the name from the Template menu. Document Workspace is typically the most common type. Click Ok 3. On the next page you will be asked to enter a Name for the site and select the Members and Owners. To add users to either the Members or Owners role click on the small Address Book icon, search for the user and click Ok. Keep in mind that only users that have the SharePoint service enabled will be displayed. Click Ok when done. 4. Congratulations. You are now ready to begin working with Sharepoint. Accessing SharePoint using your Outlook 2007 Client 1. In order to connect SharePoint to your Outlook you must have Outlook open. 2. Log into your SharePoint site and select an existing Document. Click on the Actions -> Connect to Outlook from the top Menu Bar 3. Your Outlook client will prompt you to connect the Document to Outlook. Click Yes 4. Outlook will next prompt you for your SharePoint login information. After you enter your username and password the SharePoint Document will be displayed in your Outlook client. Configuring the Autologon Utility to Automatically Login 1. Right Click the AutoLogon utility and select properties in your system tray. 2. Click on the tab labeled Services -> Click Add. Enter SharePoint as the service name. Click Ok. 3. Select SharePoint from the Service drop down select list. Change the Credential option from Default to SharePoint. Enter the server address of your new SharePoint site. Set Application type to Internet Explorer -> Click Ok to complete The next time you launch your Sharepoint site the login information will be automatically completed.
If you don't want to download big attachment automatically you can setup Outlook to only download the headers. To setup Outlook to only download the headers of large messages automatically: - Select Tools | Send/Receive | Send/Receive Settings | Define Send/Receive Groups from the menu. - Highlight the desired group. - Click Edit.... - Go to the desired account in the Accounts list. - Make sure Download complete item including attachments is selected under Folder Options. - Now make sure Download only headers for items larger than is checked, too. Enter the desired threshold. - The default 50 KB are pretty sensible. - Click OK. Now if you want to get the rest of the message: - Click Send/Receive, Outlook will only download the headers information for messages exceeding your threshold size. But getting the full emails is easy, as is deleting messages right at the server without downloading them in full ever.
